CURRENT UPDATE – 06.08.20

Following government direction, Emporium Melbourne is now open only for essential services including Henderson’s Optical, Emporium Pharmacy and Medical Centre and to support stores that are fulfilling click and collect orders, as well as our dining operators offering takeaway and delivery services.

For best access to these stores please use street level entrances.

Please contact each store directly regarding their click and collect options as well as directions for access.

Our cafes, restaurants, coffee shops and dining operators are open to offer take-away and home delivery.

The health and safety of our customers, retailers, team and community is always our highest priority.

Our health and safety measures remain in place to ensure our centre is safe for those who rely on the service our retailers provide. These measures include:

  • Physical and digital signage reminding customers to keep a safe distance apart
  • Increased sanitisation and cleaning of all customer touch points and high traffic areas
  • Hand sanitiser available in centre

To shop safely when you visit us:

  • Plan your shopping trip and use the closest entry to the store or restaurant you are visiting
  • Keep a healthy distance from other customers and team members
  • Ensure you wear a mask or face covering
  • Maintain good hygiene including washing your hands or using the hand sanitiser provided

And remember, if you are unwell, please stay home.

Your safety is our priority – you must now wear a face mask or covering


In line with Government direction, you must now wear a mask or face covering during your visit to our centre.

Help our community stop the spread of COVID-19 by keeping a healthy distance from each other.

And remember, if you have any COVID-19 symptoms, please do not enter the centre

*Face masks and coverings are now compulsory for everyone over the age of 12 when you’re out in public.

*This excludes people who cannot wear a mask for a medical reason. You may be asked to provide documentation to support this to our team, or to bring that documentation along with you next time you visit us.

The safety and wellbeing of our customers, retailers, team and community continues to be our top priority. We’re taking extra precautions to ensure our centre is clean and hygienic every time you visit, including more frequent cleaning, encouraging healthy physical distancing and good hygiene.

We know the situation will continue to evolve and we can assure you we’re staying up to date with the latest government advice and are working hard to adapt and keep our customers, retailers, team and community informed.

Yes, Emporium Melbourne is open 7 days a week for you to shop for essential products and services.

Shopping centres are classified by the Victorian Government as essential as they play a key role in the community giving customers access to essential and necessary products and services including medical services and supplies.

Of course, we continue to have stringent health and safety measures in place including increased sanitisation and cleaning of high touch areas and heat-mapping to help our team identify any busy zones in our centre.

We will continue to monitor and follow advice from the government to ensure we continue to play an essential role in our Melbourne community.


What are Emporium Melbourne’s opening hours?

Emporium Melbourne is open daily from 10am – 5pm.

What are you doing to keep the community safe?

Our focus remains the health, wellbeing and safety of everyone in our centres - our customers, retailers, team members and the broader community.

Of course, we continue to have a range of stringent and protective measures in place including:

  • Physical and digital signage reminding customers to keep a safe distance apart
  • Window signage and floor decals for our retailers to assist with communicating physical distancing measures
  • Floor decals and physical distancing reference points in key areas
  • Increased sanitisation and cleaning of all customer touch points and high traffic areas
  • Hand sanitiser at all entrances, lift lobbies and high traffic locations
  • Heat-mapping to help our team identify any busy zones in our centre
  • Social Distancing Officers in-centre during peak periods, reminding customers of distancing guidelines
  • Regular public announcements centre-wide, communicating distancing expectations
  • Security officers, in high visibility vests, are monitoring our centres, together with supporting local police to enforce social distancing requirements as appropriate
  • Zero tolerance on anti-social or disrespectful behaviour
