#BeTomorrow Hair Stylist | TODD BARRETT
Todd has been hairdressing since he was 15 years old and grew in a small town on the Mornington Peninsula.
"Growing up in a small town with people who don’t share the same values and ideals, it was difficult."
Todd left school in Year 10 to start his trade.
"When I was working, I was able to express my character without fear, using hair as the medium." "I think people in the creative industry use their mediums, whether it be clothes, make up etc. to give themselves a platform, a voice. Hair dressing is where I have found my voice."
6 years ago, Todd became part of the team at Nylon Hair, working shoulder to shoulder with some of the most talented creatives in Melbourne.
"Being in such a unified environment, has really helped me grow and develop myself; as an individual and as a hairdresser."
Todd feels that being part of the Emporium AW 17 Campaign is an absolute blessing.
"It almost feels like a dream! To be working with such talented crew and to help young Melbourne artists get their name out there - it is really very cool and so inspiring."
What does the future hold for Todd?
"It's funny because you make plans for your life; where you want to go, who you want to be. And then life laughs right back and puts you on an entirely different path. Without sounding too cliche, I want to be the best in my field. I want to continue to learn and grow and educate people that hairdressing is a very technical and comprehensive trade."
Todd is currently living in Glen Waverley.
