bassike have recently announced their responsible business initiative, a mission statement outlining current practices and commitments towards a more sustainable future. included within this statement is their goal of becoming a carbon neutral operation across their head office and retail by 2025, as well as being certified carbon neutral for their cotton jersey program.
working with specialist consultants and the government-backed climate active program to achieve carbon neutral certification for their jersey program, they have also committed to replacing all non-organic and non-certified fabrications where possible and reducing excess raw materials by 50 percent.
bassike have led with initiatives that include achieving zero waste with their jersey products; offsetting transport emissions by planting trees with the nonprofit greenfleet; introducing compostable packaging; switching the stores, warehouse and head office to efficient lighting and renewable energy through greenpower; ensuring all paper is fsc certified; and developing new sustainable fabrics.
